"مجموعة مارا" شركة أسسها المليونير أشيش ثكر، مقرها بالعاصمة الرواندية كيغالي، أطلقت قبل يومين هواتف ذكية تصنع بشكل كامل لأول مرة في القارة الإفريقية.
أشيش قال إن مصنعه تكلف 24 مليون دولار في العملية، وإنه بات يستطيع يوميا صناعة 1200 هاتف.
وتتوزع الهواتف المصنوعة محليا برواندا بين "مارا أكس" و"مارا زد"، أما أسعارها فعلى التوالي 190 و130 دولار. أسعار يتوقع أشيش أن تنافس أرخص هاتف ذكي ل "سامسونغ" يصل سعره 54 دولار، وذلك بفضل علامة "صنع في إفريقيا".
مناسبة الصنع هذه، احتفى بها رئيس البلاد بول كاغامي الذي قال إن من شأن هذا الجهد أن يجعل ملكية الهواتف الذكية في متناول المزيد من الروانديين، الذين تقدر نسبة مستخدمي الهواتف الذكية منهم ب15%.
