تقلد المغفور له وظائف سامية في قطاع العدل قبل أن يعين وزيرا للثقافة والتوجيه الإسلامي ثم رئيسا للمجلس الدستوري وبعد التقاعد عمل رئيسا لمجموعة انواكشوط الحضرية.
